thursday!

Ask your fellow voters: is over 200,000 children living in poverty in Illinois too many, not enough, or just right?

The Tea Party and everything to lose.

Laters!

Down with this sort of thing.

The "professional left" rising.

On opinions and bias.

In addition to being a huge d0uche in general, this screenshot of Frank Gaffney makes a compelling argument for him to be cast as The Monarch if they ever make a live-action Venture Bros. movie.

This poor child needs a hug and a sandwich. Goodness.

I am rewriting the lyrics to Veruca Salt's "I Want it Now" song from Willy Wonka right now, replacing the geese that lay golden eggs with super security monkeys.

It makes Baby Squirrel Jesus cry, though.

lol

So, are people really going? A bus ride sounds fun maybe.

wednesday!

Tickle me and I will destroy you!

Yes, please vote.

Good. If I didn't drive like a little old lady, I'd mount a camera in my car. Hell, I still might.

More on libraries and horrorshow.

Pure Class.

Irony.

I love you Al Franken! And I fzcking hate you, Rand Paul!

Oh good.

YES PLS

More like this too, pls.

Two Things: 1. Given the extended build up, I totally expected the kid to immediately faceplant at GO!, and 2. The sorts of horrific injuries that could result from twitchy little kids participating in this kind of activity is going on the list of things I cite that *I* would prefer not to pay for when other people b1tch about not wanting to pay into insurance pools that cover smokers.

tuesday!

"[A]s a rule, the political system seems to be more effective when voters elect candidates who aren't idiots."

And speaking of idiots....(more here and here, with a dash of evil in there too)

Chilling. I am speechless.

Seriously, how has this guy not been pitchforked to death by an angry mob yet?

The recession's over! Except for you guys, who are still screwed.

"If you loved Europe in the Middle Ages and the antebellum South, you'll LOVE Teabag America."

And they are coming for your sisters, daughters and friends. More here.

Hilarious.

Candles in the Wind.

Coolness. Our local CPS grade school was recently ranked in the top 25 out of all of Cook County's public schools and the top 5 for kid to teacher ratio, fwiw.

Continuing to be grateful I opted against a journalism major....

Kinda want one of these for the three-hole punch in my office that goes missing at least once a week.

Lady logos. Hilarious, because I cribbed some remarkably similar images to use on a mailer for our new office. I'm a part of the problem! Yay!

These parents sound pretty rad, beyond the whole messing with their kid thing.

I can't bring myself to watch this, but if you can, have fun. /willies

So this is good news, I guess. Our future elections will be slightly less rigged, or something.

This seems like a bad idea. You don't want voters to see your name and associate it with awful smells, no matter what your messaging is. Also, that had to be an incredibly expensive mailer, and what does that say about his commitment to fiscal responsibility, huh?

New York gets wailed on.

This particular guy seems like quite the nut, but beyond that, I'd expect things like it to keep happening until we have better cost controls in place.

Okay, a-1, this seems gross somehow, and b-2, how is this not setting a bunch of people up for open container violations if they drive home from the store?

UGH, disappointing and sad.

I don't care if these kids are actual Juggalos or they're just mocking them, either way it annoys the crap out of me that the video was taped in a kitchen with granite countertops. This is why we can't have nice things, America.

Meanwhile, over in Grown-Up Land, the president we actually need says some stuff.

Dunno about this. It does, to a certain extent, legitimize the power and influence of the gangs. BUT, that's the very reason gangs exist--they step into a void of power in underserved, oppressed neighborhoods. I don't know if giving them a seat at the table helps or hurts the balance of power.
